TOP 4 REASONS YOUR HAIR IS BEHIND YOUR BREAKOUTS

Have you tried everything and your skin just always breaks out? If this sounds all too familiar, then maybe the cause could be...your hair!


  • Not washing your hair

Just think about it, when you don't wash your hair and then go to sleep with your hair down after a looong day, you have a higher chance of getting acne because the dirt and oils from your hair are getting on your clean, freshly washed face every night. A great alternative could be to wear it up and use a head wrap at night. 


  • Your hairstyle 

Some hairstyles like bangs and hair accessories like hats are are also causing us to have adult acne. I know, sad but true. It’s important to give your forehead a break from wearing your bangs down by either wearing a headband, pinning them back or to the sides, and if they are long enough, just wear them up! As far as hats go remember to always wash them as often as possible. They are a great option for blocking out the sun and excellent for protecting your skin however if you use them constantly it can cause sweat and dirt to build up on your skin causing breakouts. Remember to also wash them if possible! Washing them removes the dirt from the day and can help prevent future breakouts!! 


  • Hair products 

The products we use for our hair are also something to keep in mind if you want to prevent acne. All of the chemicals in your hair products can be very irritating for your skin which can lead to breakouts. But don't worry, If you have a signature hairstyle that you just LOVE and you know that you will be getting product on your face you may just need to look for water or glycerin based products. 


  • Not showering after a workout 

If you’re and early bird like me and love to get your morning workout in before you start your day, don’t forget to shower!!!!! This tip is not limited to folks who exercise only in the morning but any time of day. I know it can be tempting if you’re in a rush and you just have to squeeze in that workout for the day but for the sake of skincare and hygiene in general please remember to shower! Not only does this cause acne but it is tends to build up around your hairline and where you sweat
